Not all reports drawn up by international human rights organizations on Kazakhstan’s human rights records represent the actual picture, Newskaz.ru reports, citing the country’s Foreign Minister Erlan Idrissov as saying.

The Minister listed Freedom House, Soros Foundation, Human Rights Watch and some others among the human rights organizations that are engaged in studying Kazakhstan’s human rights records and shaping public opinion on Kazakhstan’s performance in this realm.

In our opinion, not all reports of the mentioned above human rights organizations, including reports for foreign governments, are true to the facts. They are only focused on troubled aspects the nation is working on; the reports position the very existence of these issues as Kazakhstan’s reluctance to implement political reforms. And the reports either fail to acknowledge or downplay Kazakhstan’s tangible progress in some areas”, the Minister said.

Mr. Idrissov emphasized that “regardless of the lopsided approach to our nation, Kazakhstan (…) intends to continue the constructive dialogue with the organizations to build a stable, liberal, democratic Kazakhstan”.
