Kazakhstan to sign long-term cooperation program with China

21 may 2013, 14:40
Kazakhstan will sign with China a long-term trade and economic cooperation program for the period until 2020, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry.

According to the Ministry, Kazakhstan Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Yerbolat Dossayev rendered a work visit to Beijing on May 6.

“During the meeting with China’s Minister of Commerce Gao Hucheng they discussed prospects of further development of the bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation. Besides, the parties exchanged their opinions on implementation of joint projects in different areas. Heads of the economic ministries paid special attention to the growing trade and economic partnership,” the press-service writes.

Dossayev and Hucheng discussed preparation of the program of mid-term and long-term development of Kazakhstan-Chinese trade and economic cooperation to be implemented until 2020 and agreed to step up the work to approve a new wording of the agreement between the governments on encouragement and mutual protection of investments.

“The plan is to prepare the said documents for signing at the coming state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Kazakhstan. It was agreed to continue regular contacts between the ministries of the two countries,” the message states.
