Albert Rau, Deputy Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan, says that global players are competing in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews reports.

“We should put our stakes on the champions. We should focus on those who work in the Custom Union environment, not on those who only complain about its conditions and do nothing,” said Rau, at the Senate meeting on protection of national producers in the environment of the Eurasian integration and after accession into the World Trade Organization (WTO).

According to Rau, LG Electronics in Kazakhstan is already competing with Samsung that has a plant in Russia. “LG Electronics produces 300 thousand TV sets and 100 thousand washers. A new LG plant will be build in Alatau Special Economic Zone (near Almaty). With that we will be able to produce more than a million TV sets. We are talking about a global competition here; LG is in real competition with Samsung that launched a plant in Russia. This is a competition between the global players,” said the Deputy Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan.

“The investment climate certainly facilitates this. Otherwise companies like Toyota, KIA and Hyundai wouldn't have just come to our country,” he added.
