Kazakhstan leads Central Asia in human development

United Nations Development Program (UNDP) published their annual human development report, ca-news.org reports. In the ranking of human development index Kazakhstan comes 68th. This is the highest rank among Central Asian countries. The are 187 countries in total in the ranking. Turkmenistan stands 102nd, Uzbekistan – 115th, Kyrgyzstan – 126th, and Tajikistan is 127th. Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are called the poorest countries in the region, nevertheless they were included in the list of “the countries with the medium level of human development.” As rus.delfi.lv reports, Norway is the number one country in human development. It is followed by Australia, the Netherlands, USA, New Zealand, Canada, Ireland, Lichtenstein, Germany and Sweden. Among former USSR countries Estonia (34th rank) tops the list, Russia comes 66th, Georgia – 75th, and Ukraine is 75th. The lowest human development rank, according to UNDP data, belongs the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
