No violations were registered during elections to Kazakhstan Senate as of 11 a.m. August 19, Tengrinews.kz reports citing deputy chairman of Kazakhstan Central Election Commission Vladimir Foos.

“Elections are being held in a calm and serious atmosphere. Election commissions and local authorities have taken all the necessary measures to ensure security and order. No violations of the election law have been registered,” Foos said. According to his information, 3,284 voters are registered.

“Voter turnout made 96 percent in Astana, 91.9 percent in Almaty, 95.5 percent in Atyrau oblast, 98.3 percent in Kostanai obast, 91.8 percent of Kyzylorda oblast and 98.1 percent in South-Kazakhstan oblast,” the CEC deputy chairman said. Information from other regions will be available later because of the time difference.

There have been no complaints from election participants or social activists, according to Vladimir Foos.
