President of Kazakhstan announced the after-elections priorities, Tengrinews.kz reports referring to the official website of Nursultan Nazarbayev. On January 13 he addressed the public. One of the key goals is to continue political modernization of the society in Kazakhstan.

“As a result of the elections the parliament will be at least bipartisan. We will go forward with the reform of law enforcement bodies, particularly of the judicial system. We will continue to fight corruption with no compromise. This is a new stage in the political development of the country. We will work with all parties in a constructive way. We will further strengthen inter-ethnic and interdenominational accord,” Nursultan Nazarbayev addressed the public.

Another priority is a large scale social modernization aimed at further increase in the citizens’ wealth.

“All our actions will be laid out in detail in several national programs. These are “2030 Quality of Life,” “2030 Healthy Nation,” “2030 Informational Kazakhstan.” These are very specific programs with allocated funding, and we will work according to it,” Nursultan Nazarbayev assured.

The next priority is further industrial and innovative development of the country.

“We will grow the industries, introduce new science intensive technologies allowing Kazakhstan to compete at the regional and international levels. New branches in electronics, mechanical engineering, aircraft building, locomotive and train cars production, and construction will operate to the full capacity. We will continue to work on offering aid to the agrarian sector of our country. We will keep developing the processing industries. We will pay a lot of attention to growing livestock farming. 2,300 farms will be created to give jobs to the residents of rural areas,” President said.

The head of the state outlined Kazakhstan’s achievements over the past 20 years of independence: the GDP per capita is over 11,000 dollars, in 2011 the economy has grown by 7.5%. “Cumulative international reserves exceeded 75 billion US dollars. Why are we saving these funds? We will use these funds should a new crises or cataclysms, which no one can fence oneself off today, strike. If such cataclysms occur these resources will be necessary to pay pensions and salaries to employees of government-financed organizations,” President ensured.

Nazarbayev is convinced that elections are always a test for any society. “This is a time when societal values, the unity of the nation and the consistency of decisions made are put to the test. On the other hand, it always involves arguments, debates, tough competition. It is acceptable, it is a common democratic way. But we should not forget that elections are just one stage in life,” the President’s press services quoted him.

“Unfortunately, my fellow citizens, I must say honestly and directly as usual, we have difficult times ahead of us. Instability of the global economy, probability of a new crisis, decrease in the export prices may affect the economy of Kazakhstan. We’ve been getting ready for this, not just for the first year. And despite all the negative forecasting, we will follow the selected path to the country’s modernization for better lives of our people,’’ Nazarbayev assured.

“The choice that will help Kazakhstan be a stronger, more stable and solid state and follow the course of reforms and innovations,” President concluded.
