Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom Yerzhan Kazykhanov has presented the letter of credence to Queen Elizabeth II, Tengrinews reports citing the press service of Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry. The ceremony took place in the Buckingham Palace late last week.
During the meeting, Yerzhan Kazykhanov conveyed greetings to the Queen on behalf of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan also marked the dynamic development of the bilateral relations of the two countries in politics, economy, education and culture.
High-level agreements on strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and the UK have greatly contributed to the expansion of the bilateral ties, he said.
Queen Elizabeth highlighted the importance of further strengthening and expanding the bilateral ties between Kazakhstan and the UK. She marked the sustainable development of Kazakhstan under the leadership of Nursultan Nazarbayev and wished Yerzhan Kazykhanov success in his work in the new position.
Yerzhan Kazykhanov was appointed the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the UK and Republic of Ireland in mid-September. Before that Yerzhan Kazykhanov was a presidential aid. From April 11, 2011 to September 28, 2012, Kazykhanov served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
