Elections environment is calm: Interior Ministry

Election are taking place in a calm environment, Tengrinews.kz reports quoting the Ministry of Interior Affairs as stating.

“We have been ensuring security of all the polling stations since the time the ballots were delivered there. The elections are proceeding in a calm and civil environment in compliance with the current legislation. No serious violations have been registered. No disturbances of social order have occurred," head of the Interior Ministry’s administrative policies committee Marat Zheksenbekov told the reporters at the CEC’s briefing.

He assured that all the applications and complains to the law enforcement authorities will be considered immediately.

Speaking about the situation in Zhanaozen Marat Zheksenbekov said: “The situation in Zhanaozen in stable. Voting is taking place at 28 polling stations. 1500-2000 interior affairs officers have been mobilized. The state of emergency has been lifted from the town. Elections are taking place in calm environment,” Zheksenbekov said.
