Currently CICA includes 24 member-countries. 8 countries and 3 international organizations, including the UN have the observers’ status. Any country at is at least partly geographically located in Asia may become a member of the organization.

Besides, the President told the ambassadors that Kazakhstan sees huge opportunities in the Central Asian region becoming an outpost of the global community in countering international terrorism, extremism, illegal migration, drug trafficking and other contemporary challenges.

”Kazakhstan welcome the activities of specialized representative offices of the UN, OSCE and other international organizations. Kazakhstan sees its mission in the region in consistent enhancement of the system of the regional security and stability. We are ready to enhance our interaction in all issues of the regional security, including under CSTO, SCO, CICA and partnership programs with NATO and other international structures,” the President said.
