While chairing the Council of Foreign Ministers of OIC (Organization of the Islamic Conference), Kazakhstan raised $350 million for Somalia, Tengrinews.kz reports from the 66th session of the UN General Assembly.

“Humanitarian crisis in Somalia has become a recent test for the OIC. We managed to mobilize $350 million for food and medication programs and economic rehabilitation of Somalia,” Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev said at the 66th session of the UN General Assembly on September 21.

Starting his speech, Nursultan Nazarbayev congratulated UN Secretary General on his re-election and greeted a new member of the Organization, South Sudan, that gained independence.
