The experts are talking to representatives of CARICC and Interpol on interaction and coordination of investigative works on detection of terrorist organizations and transnational drug groups financing terrorism from the profits from illegal drug trafficking, the speaker said. “Special emphasis is made on effective use of Interpol databases and CARICC in information exchange on drug mules and members of terrorist organizations,” he added. According to him, the meeting includes signing of the agreement on cooperation between CARICC and Interpol enabling CARICC to have direct access and use Interpol’s information system. “This will allow the parties to the agreement to maintain a continuous information exchange on the issues of mutual interest and apply coordinated measures on detection, prevention and suspension of activities of crime organizations, groups and certain persons involved in trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors and actively cooperate in provision of regional and international security and stability, including countering terrorism,” the speaker said. The operative meeting has been organized by the General Secretariat of Interpol jointly with CARICC under support of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
