The approaching crisis is some kind of a test-drive for Kazakhstan state authorities, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev as saying at the Industrial Forum in Astana yesterday.

“In future we need a system of constant monitoring with innovative technologies and amendments to our programs. We will have to work in extremely unfavorable conditions when the possible second wave of the crisis strikes. If that happens, we must be ready too. The approaching crisis is some kind of a test-drive of the state authorities, for all the Akims (Mayors), all the Ministries and the Prime-Minister,” President said.

He reminded that in the first wave of the crisis in 2008 Kazakhstan used a unique anti-crisis program. “Four years ago we managed to convert the sliding global economy into the growing national policy for Kazakhstan. That means than we can and we must do it this time,” President said.

Kazakhstan leader instructed the government and the National Bank to work out a new anti-crisis strategy that will allow Kazakhstan to advance amid the deterioration of the global markets. “The Economy Minister has told us that there is such a program and I know it, but it is necessary to always review it against the possibility of deterioration of all our export resources and reduction of the money invested in Kazakhstan. It has to be clear and understandable for all Kazakhstan citizens. It has to be a universal model of national response to challenges,” Nazarbayev said.

“I suggest everyone to bravely look beyond the horizon of the second wave of the crisis and see our Kazakhstan as one of the industrially developed countries,” he declared.
