Afghanistan authorities have asked Kazakhstan to introduce simplified visa procedures between the countries, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Afghanistan’s Minister of Trade and Industry Anwar-Ul-Haq Ahady as saying during the fifth meeting of Kazakhstan-Afghanistan Inter-Government Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation.

The Minister believes that the simplifying visa procedures will enable the countries to develop better trade relations. According to him, the annual commodities turnover between Kazakhstan and Afghanistan makes around $250 million. He assured that it will grow in future.

Representative of Kazakhstan deputy Foreign Minister Kairat Sarybai noted that the Ministry is already considering simplification of the visa procedures. “The issue is ambiguous, it has to be considered by various authorities. Meanwhile, I would like to assure the Afghan party that we are optimistic and we will continue working on this issue,” Sarybai said.
