A citizen of Shymkent has moved to a neighboring country because he had to endure constant insults for his sexual orientation in his home city, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the Kazakhstan International Bureau for Human Rights and Rule of Law. The man applied to the Bureau for Human Rights several times, sent applications to police with complains, but without any results. He even filed a lawsuit to court asking to bring his neighbors to criminal responsibility for the insults. The plaintiff’s representative in court was a woman, because none of the male lawyers he tried to hire agreed to defend a gay client. After a long investigation and without any positive result in court the man finally gave up and decided to leave the country.
