Kazakh students in Beijing survey awareness of Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan students in Beijing have made a jocose poll among foreigners to find out the world's awareness of Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports. According to the students, awareness about Kazakhstan is growing in the world and only a few respondents knew nothing about the country. The polled foreigners say that Kazakhstan is a former Soviet country located close to Russia and Xinjiang-Uighur Autonomous Region of China. They know that Astana is its capital and Nursultan Nazarbayev is its President. Girls said that Kazakhstan men are fond of women and guys note the country's excellent boxers. Some say that Kazakhstan women beauty. Many respondents like Kazakhstan people and some even want to visit the country. Borat is also mentioned, but the respondents do not believe that the movie showed the real Kazakhstan. One of the respondents says that Almaty the country’s capital, which it used to be more than a dozen years ago. Others believe that Kazakhs look a lot like Arabs. Foreigners also know that Kazakhs like horses. One of the respondents mentions manty as Kazakhstan national dish. Despite of some mistakes and lack of knowledge about Kazakhstan, the foreigners generally believe that Kazakhstan people are good and smart people and say that Kazakhstan is a beautiful country.
