57-y.o. woman went skydiving in Pavlodar to support the retirement reform in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports. It was the first skydiving experience for kindergarten teacher Tatyana Khomutova. Pavlodar oblast Skydiving Federation gave this opportunity to the woman for free. According to Khomutova, she did not only get over her acrophobia, but also proved to herself and others that the age was not an obstruction for achieving a lifelong dream. “I believe that 57 years is not the limit for a woman. You have to make a step forward as everyone has a reserve. My jump will be a similar step forward, a step to show that modernization of the pension system is possible and it is possible to stay active and stay young,” the woman said. According to the Skydiving Federation, Tatyana passed a two-week training course prior to her first jump and was much more active than many other skydivers after the jump. “Skydiving was not scary at all; everything is so beautiful from up there. I feel so active, there is so much adrenalin in me,” Pavlodar citizen said. Besides Tatyana Khomutova, 7 more people took part in the campaign to support the new pension system. Seven women aged 16 to 40 skydived as well. In the beginning of April Kazakhstan government approved a gradual raise of the pension age for women from 58 to 63. The draft law was submitted to the Parliament.
