The talks on Russian modernized T-90S armored vehicles supply to Kazakhstan are premature, said the Colonel General Valery Gerassimov, Russia's General Staff deputy chief, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Interfax-Kazakhstan. “We consider supplies of weapon and military equipment to Kazakhstan separately, depending on every specific sample. It is too early to speak on Russian armored vehicles supply to Kazakhstan,” Gerassimov said at the press-conference in Moscow. According to the deputy chief, the military technical cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan develops in two directions. One through RosOboronExport and the other one through the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The deputy chief also haven't mentioned specific volume of Russian weapon and military equipment supply to Kazakhstan, the Agency noted. Tengrinews.kz reported earlier that Kazakhstan could purchase Russian modernized rocket-powered T-90S armored vehicle, engineered at Uralvagonzavod plant. The T-90 is a Russian third-generation main battle tank. It is currently the most modern tank in service with the Russian Ground Forces and Naval Infantry. T-90 uses a 125mm 2A46 smoothbore tank gun, 1G46 gunner sights, a new engine, and thermal sights. Standard protective measures include a blend of Steel, Composite armour, and Kontakt-5 explosive-reactive armor, laser warning receivers, Nakidka camouflage and the Shtora infrared ATGM jamming system. It is designed and built by Uralvagonzavod, in Nizhny Tagil, Russia. T-90S is an export version of T-90. It is the latest development in the T-series and represents an increase in firepower, mobility and protection. Tanks are found with two different turret armour arrays.
