Military vehicles made a march near Almaty on February 12, one day after the country's central bank devalued the national currency - the tenge - by nearly 20% in one step. The video posted in the internet caused a lot of speculations, so a representative of the Defense Ministry of Kazakhstan has commented on it, Tengrinews reports.

There is nothing to worry about, it is a routine inspection of military forces, Deputy Commanding of the Airmobile Forces Lieutenant Colonel Kanatbek Belgibekov said.

"Combat readiness and technical operability of military forces are checked by the Inspector General's Department of the Defense Ministry on a regular bases. To pass the check the vehicles have to successfully complete a 50-kilometer march to demonstrate their combat readiness and operability. The routine march was made and now the vehicles are being evaluated in the field environment," Belgibekov said.

The inspection is held every three years and it was not timed to the evaluation of the tenge, but merely coincided with it, the military official said. "It is a just a routine inspection," Kanatbek Belgibekov assured.

The vehicles on the march were the equipment of the Military Unit #61993.
