Kostanay horse cavalry gets pedigreed horses

Kostanay policemen will patrol the streets riding pedigreed horses of Kostanay breed, Tengrinews.kz reports referring to Channel 7. 30 horses are available at the disposal of Kostanay cavalrymen at present. All the animals were purchased from local breeding farms. Each horse costs 500,000 tenge ($3,378) and was bought at oblasts' budget expenses. The policemen will mostly use the horses to patrol suburban districts of Kostanay. “If such a big horse charges at a crowd of people it would look very frightening and help easily disperse them. We used to have small locally bred horses. They were of low stature and looked plain. And as you can see, these horses are tall. In one word they are beautiful,” Arman Batyrzhanov, police commanding officer of Kostanay Ministry’s of Internal Affairs patrol force battalion said.
