Kazakhstan enhances cooperation with Chana's major defense companies

Kazakhstan Defense Minister Adilbek Dzhaksybekov met with Chinese Minister of National Defense General Liang Guanglie and management of the Central Military Commission during his visit to China, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of Kazakhstan Defense Ministry. “During his meeting with top managers of Chinese companies Kazakhstan Defense Minister said that Kazakhstan was interested in establishing bilateral relations with major Chinese companies of the defense industry and expressed hope that visiting military companies of China would help identify possible directions of cooperation in this area,” the message states. Dzhaksybekov noted that Kazakhstan delegation had already started working with Chinese defense companies in military-technical cooperation. According to the Ministry’s press-service, “high level of interaction of our experts in this area” has been reached in over the past 2 years. Kazakhstan Defense Minister also thanked his Chinese colleagues for participation in the second international exhibition of armament and military vehicles KADEX-2012 held in Kazakhstan and expressed confidence that joint work on military-technical projects would be sucessful. General Liang Guanglie stressed that China and Kazakhstan established good friendly relations. He thanked Dzhaksybekov for his support and successful cooperation. “Joint events of the defense ministries that are always being held on a high organizational level will help retaining global and regional stability,” he noted. Upon completion of the official visit heads of the defense ministries expressed confidence of further positive development of Kazakhstan-Chinese relations in the military sector. According to the press-service, the Cooperation Plan is being successfully implemented between the defense ministries of Kazakhstan and China. A range of activities have been performed under this Plan this year. In particular, two Chinese teams took part in the competitions of special forces groups and sniper teams Altyn Uki in Spassk training center in July 2012. Kazakhstan also attaches high importance to cooperation with China under the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
