Kazakhstan ranked 16th among oil producing nations

Kazakhstan was ranked 16th among oil producing nations in terms of 2011 oil production output, RIA Novosti reports. The nation’s 2011 production output totaled 584 000 000 barrels.

The list was compiled by experts with RIA Analitika think tank, based on OPEC data on average daily production. Russia with its 3 748 600 000 barrels is ranked 1st, followed by Saudi Arabia with its 3 388 300 barrels and the USA with its 3 285 000 000 barrels.

The top five also comprises China and Iran (1 511 100 000 and 1 319 500 000 barrels respectively), with Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Iraq and Kuwait closely behind. The list comprised a total of 44 nations, with the bottom positions held by Brunei, Trinidad, Tobago and Chad.
