Petrol prices went 24 percent up in Kazakhstan in 2011, while diesel fuel prices increased 26.2 percent, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Statistics Agency.

As for food, groats experienced the most prices growth: 43.3 percent, including buckwheat (54.7 percent up) and millet (44 percent up). Prices for meat and meat products went 23.2 percent up, while milk products got 8.9 percent more expensive. Sugar got 18.7 percent cheaper and the prices for fruits and vegetables went 3.5 percent down.
