Kazakhstan may resume oil export to Belarus, Tengrinews.kz reports citing deputy Prime-Minister of Belarus Mikhail Russyi as saying at the 9th meeting of Kazakhstan-Belarus inter-government commission on trade and economic cooperation.

“Growth of Kazakhstan import to our country may be secured by resuming supplies of hydrocarbons and oil products for processing by Belarus companies. Signing of an inter-government agreement on trade and economic cooperation in oil and oil products supplies to Belarus would facilitate this,” deputy Prime-Minister of Belarus Mikhail Russyi said.

He reminded that Kazakhstan and Belarus have been operating in the common economic space since January 2012 and it is within the interests of both Kazakhstan and Belarus to activate a joint search for new forms of cooperation to maximize use of the advantages given by this agreement.

“We also see the agricultural complex as one of the priority directions for cooperation and suggest a joint implementation of the projects in development of the infrastructure of rural areas, including designing and construction of agricultural towns, milk farms and other agricultural facilities. We are ready for a joint work to eliminate the imbalance we currently have in our mutual trades,” Mikhail Russyi added.

According to Belarus’ deputy Prime-Minister, Belarus is interested in an investment cooperation between the two countries and expects an inflow and participation of Kazakhstan’s capital in implementation of mutually beneficial projects.
