37 free satellite TV and radio programs in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan Prime Minister Karim Massimov has approved the list of local TV and radio channels distributed via satellite, official media reports. As per the Minister of Communications Askar Zhumagaliyev, introduction of the satellite television will make 37 state and regional TV and radio channels available for free nationwide in DVB-S2 digital standard. 50 different foreign channels will be also available, but on a paid basis. The list includes Khabar, El Arna, Kazakhstan, Caspionet, Channel One Eurasia, MIR, Balapan, Channel 31, Commercial TV Channel, Independent TV Channel, Tan, Channel 7, STV, Astana, Delovaya Volna (Business Wave) radio, MuzZone, Hit TV, 7 News, Kazakh Radio, Shalkar, Astana radio, Tengri FM, Almaty, Zhetysu. The channels from the list will have their satellite broadcasting costs reimbursed from the state budget.
