Starting from 2012 Kazakhstan is planning to introduce visa free regime with the countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Interfax-Kazakhstan reports citing the head of the Consular Department of Kazakhstan Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yryskali Daurenbek.

According to Daurenbek, the visa free regime is planned to be introduced for 13 countries of the OECD in 2012. “Next year we want to make an experiment and give an opportunity for citizens of these countries to visit Kazakhstan for 14-30 days in summer period without visas and see what the result is going to be,” head of the Consular Department said.

“We are discussing simplification of visa regime for our citizens with the EU countries and reviewing the possibility of signing an agreement on visa free regime for owners of regular passports with Japan,” Daurenbek said.

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development is made of 34 countries, including Israel, Mexico, Turkey, Chile and EU countries. Currently Kazakhstan has visa free regime agreements for owners of passports of different types with 52 countries.
