Saudi Arabia is interested in importing grain and other agriculture products from Kazakhstan. This was told by HE Abdullah Alireza, Minister of Commerce and Industry, during the talks with the Kazakhstan’s Minister of Transport and Communications Berik Kamaliyev, the Ministry reports in a press-release.

In his turn, Mr. Kamaliyev said that this year Kazakhstan is completing construction of a new railway link Uzen – Turkmenistan border.

“When this international railway is completed, Kazakhstan will get an access to the Persian Gulf. This will cut down the transportation route to Saudi Arabia”, the press-release reads.

“The Kazakh Minister offered Saudi Arabia to participate in infrastructure projects in Kazakhstan under a concession agreement”, the Ministry reports.

The sides also dwelt on launching a direct flight between Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia. HE Abdullah Alireza said that Saudi Arabia is ready to consider launching a direct flight, Interfax – Kazakhstan reports.
