Kazakhstan's youth is more patriotic than Russia's

Kazakhstan's young people are more patriotic than Russian, Polish and Ukrainian. Ukrainian analytic and research experts from Gorshenin Institute came to this conclusion after opinion surveys in 2010-2011.

According to the Institute's findings, 68.2 percent of young Kazakhstan residents are proud of being the citizens of their country. Russians are at the second place with 66.5 percent. Poland is behind Russia with 61.9 percent. Young Ukrainian residents are the least patriotic – 55.4 percent.

Jerzy Buzek, President of the European Parliament commented on the results of the survey by saying: “Young people are the core of any society. Authorities are responsible for impressing active citizenship idea, solidarity and tolerance into the minds of the younger generations. We need to remember that investing in the today's youth we are invest into the future of our society.”

Results of poll called Students: Image of Future will be published by Gorshenin Institute in full by the end of April 2011.
