Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev reminded of the latest global events at the joint meeting of the Parliament Chambers on September 1. The President pointed at complexity of both political and economic situation in the world, Tengrinews.kz reports.

“Complexity of the global development is evident. Tendency of global economy is disappointing. Stock markets are shaking, world prices are jumping. The rating of the U.S. went down for the first time in many years. The European Union is sinking into economic problems. Social tensions in Europe caused a wave of unrest with mass violence and pillaging in such large cities like London. All these are alarming symptoms. The world is facing serious security problems. Global hunger spot in Africa involved tens of millions of people. According to the UN's forecasts, hunger may threat several neighboring countries of Central Asia as well. Thus, threats of illegal migration, epidemics and conflicts are raising. World information space is becoming a battle-field. Criminal groups of Internet-pirates operate in the Internet, they organize attacks, cause harm to companies and even countries. The world is on the edge of significant geopolitical shifts. Middle East is unstable, unrests arise close to our borders. Not all countries will be able to stand against the wave of instability. The risk of inter-ethnic and inter-religious conflicts is raising. The world was recently shocked by a humongous terrorist attack in stable Norway. The threat of new attacks of the international terrorism is still high,” the President warned the Parliament members.

He called representatives of all branches of government to protect the country, its economy and population from new threats.
