One Almaty bus from the city fleet earns 30 thousand tenge (about $200) a day, reports, citing city administration. The bus drivers' salary ranges from 100 thousand tenge (about 800 US dollars) and higher.

According to the official data, 50 buses running on gas are servicing three routes – route №79 (20 buses), №29 (20 buses) и №2 (10 buses). This puts the daily earnings generated by these three routes at 1.5 million tenge ($10 thousand).

Recently 130 buses running on gas have been delivered to Almaty. The remaining 70 will be delivered by the end of April this year.
Private bus fleets have started to purchase Euro-4 buses to be able to compete at the Almaty public transport market, said Vladimir Merenkov, head of Almaty public transport and roads administration.
