KedenTransService (KTS), a joint company of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and Transcontainer, is in discussion with Toyota on participation in transportation of its car components from Japan for the Toyota plant to be built in Kazakhstan, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports citing KTS President Edil Iskakov. "We are negotiating with Toyota. They are planning to build a plant in Kazakhstan and are now selecting the location, Kostanay or Ust-Kamenogorsk," he said. According to Iskakov, preliminary negotiations were held with Toyota. He added that Toyota was working out routes to deliver the components to Kazakhstan: via Russian Transsib or via China. KTS President reminded that the company had been working with Transcontainer on implementation of the project on transportation of car part for KIA and Chevrolet from Korean GM to Kazakhstan plant Asia Auto. The parties have also launched a project on transportation of parts for Czech plant Skoda to Asia Auto. "First pilot train departed a few days ago. If everything goes well, we will be sending it on a regular basis," Iskakov said and added that the monthly volume of transportation from the Czech plant may reach 80-100 containers. Transcontainter bought a majority stake in KedenTransService in March 2011 "to ensure the group's access to Kazakhstan's market of railroad terminal services". Transcontainer operates large-capacity containers and fitting platforms for their transportation and owns a network of terminals in Russia and Slovakia. RZHD owns 50 percent + 1 stake in the operator. 18.5 percent is owned by FESCO transportation company, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has 9.25 percent and Transfingroup owns 6.6 percent. The group's net profit by IAS made 935 million rubles ($31.2 million) and the revenues made 22.8 billion rubles ($760 million) in 2010.
