Kazakhstan gained 15 lines in telecommunications development rating

Kazakhstan gained 15 lines in the rating of development of telecommunications infrastructure, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of Kazakhstan Minister of Transport and Communications.

According to the 2011 global competitiveness report of the World Economic Forum (WEF), Kazakhstan improved its standing in many areas. The changes were registered in the following sectors: Kazakhstan advanced from the 82nd place to the 67th one in infrastructure, from 38th to the 20th place by the number of cellular communications users, from 77th to the 62nd place by the number of Internet users, from 71st to the 67th place by the number of broadband Internet users and from 53rd to the 74th place by Internet network capacity.

Kazakhstan has also moved from 72th to 51st place in the Global Competitiveness Index. The research was held in 144 countries. Russia and Ukraine were ranked 67th and 73rd, correspondingly.
