Five of eleven An-12 planes have been excluded from Kazakhstan State Register, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports citing head of Flights Security Department of the Civil Aviation Commission of Kazakhstan Ministry of Transport and Communications Anatoliy Rudoi.

“There are currently six An-12 planes in the state registrar of civil aircrafts. Three of them are suitable for flights and have valid air worthiness certificates, while certificates of three other aircrafts have expired,” the agency's source said.

According to Rudoi, all three An-12 planes are operated by ATMA airline. “An-12 aircrafts are used for the UN program for transportation of food from Kazakhstan, Georgia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan to Afghanistan,” he added.
