A medical train left from Astana to norther Kazakhstan region on September 26, Tengrinews.kz reports. During two months the doctors are planning to check-up and, if necessary, render medical aid to around 30 thousand people in remote areas of North-Kazakhstan, Pavlodar and Akmolinskaya oblasts. “A special feature of this train is that it has all the conditions for work, including real time video communication equipment. In case of necessity, the doctors will be able to connect with any consulting doctor and any professor in any hospital, starting with our National Medical Holding and all our hospital bases in Almaty,” Kazakhstan Healthcare Minister Salidat Kairbekova said. This is the second train out of the planned three. The mobile consulting-diagnostic medical train has been created by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of Healthcare and Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (national railroad company) under the President's instructions. The train is equipped with diagnostic equipment, mini-operating room, laboratory, treating devices, Internet connection and telecommunication. According to chairman of Catastrophe Medicine Railroad Hospital of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Serik Danbayev, the experts will have checked-up and rendered required aid to 30 thousand people at 30 stations by November 26. “The train has a small operating room. In case of an emergency, medical wagons will be staying in place, while the compartment coaches will be evacuating people. But we hope such situations will not occur,” Danbayev said. According to him, remote areas desperately need dentists, roentgenologists and oncology diagnostsicians. According to Serik Danbayev, doctors of the medical train have diagnosed 117 oncological cases in 2010 and 137 of them in 2011.
