Medical professionals are being massively tested for professional suitability for the first time in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews reports citing the press-service of the National Center of Knowledge and Skills Assessment.

The pilot qualification assessment and confirmation of conformity of medical professionals started on September 2, 2013. Knowledge of theory and practical skills of more than 300 doctors and secondary medical personnel of Astana and Almaty cities will be tested within a month.

"The participants will be taking a theory test that lasts for 3.5 hours. And then a one-hour-long test for evaluation of their practical skills. Medical professionals will be demonstrating their medical skills on simulation models in various scenarios," the Center of Knowledge and Skills Assessment said.

The pilot assessment is a part of Salamatty Kazakhstan state-run healthcare development project for 2011-2015 and the project of Technology Transfer and Institutional Reform in Healthcare in Kazakhstan.
