Almaty will see more flowers this summer

Flower beds will cover 190 square meters of Almaty city this summer, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing the press-office of the Akim (Governor). The area of flower planting will be further increased this year. Flower beds area made 110 000 square meters in 2010 and 180 000 square meters in 2011. “Perennial plants will be planted in city parks and public gardens, along highways and around corporates and individual buildings. Tulips of various forms and colors will beautify the city’s landscape in spring. Summer flowers will replace them as the season comes,” the press-release reads. New forms of designer flowerpots will be used to create the spirit and unite the style of decoration of the city’s streets and squares. The city’s authorities are also plan to hold The Best Flower Gardening Contest for Almaty yards.
