Rzhev Aircraft Repair Plant (Russia) has offered no comments on the results of the MIG-31 crash investigation that blame the crash on the plant's poor job, Tengrinews reports.

The editorial office of Tengrinews contacted Rzhev Aircraft Repair Plant by phone, but the plants representatives refused to comment on the situation. “The managing director will not comment on this subject. Excuse us, Goodbye,” said the receptionist of the plant's management.

According to the commission investigating the crash of the military aircraft near Karaganda, a technical failure baused by an inadvertent unscrewing of a crucial nut that was poorly fitted by the Rzhev’s 514th Aircraft Repair Plant during this year's overhaul of the airplane.

On April 23, 2013 the MIG-31 crashed while performing a training flight near Karaganda. The crew ejected themselves from the plane before the crash. The Commander pilot Colonel Marat Yedigeev died and aeronavigator Major Ruslan Galimzyanov was hospitalized. As reported earlier, equipment failure was suspected to be the cause the crash.

Colonel Marat Yedigeev was awarded postmortem with Aidyn Medal of the 1st Degree for display of bravery and heroism during performance of his military duty.

A criminal case was initiated over the crash for “violation of flight rules or preparations to flights.”
