Nazarbayev has declared a national mourning on January 31, Tengrinews.kz reports.

Opening today's meeting with representatives of law-enforcement authorities, Kazakhstan President mentioned that 21 people died in the plane crash near Almaty on January 29.

“I have instructed to form a special government commission that will investigated into the reasons of the tragedy and draw up new measures to enhance flights safety. The government has been instructed to render all-round support to the families of the passengers and crew members killed in the crash. I have decided to declare a national mourning on January 31,” Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

The meeting’s participants paid a tribute to the crash victims with a minute of silence.

Earlier President expressed condolences to the families of the victims.
