Kazakhstan Chief Transport Prosecutor’s office has refuted the information about 8 million tenge ($53 thousand) missing from the CRJ-200 crash site near Almaty, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the authority’s press-service.

According to the press-service, “the crash site was cordoned by militarymen, officers of the Emergency Situations Ministry and police. All personal belongings and documents found at the accident site were collected and carefully checked by authorized officers. The bag with personal belongings and money of A.Yeskendirov was also found during the check,” the message states.

The press-service writes that all personal belongings of the victims will be returned to their families upon completion of all the required procedures. No other claims have been submitted to the investigation group, except for the claim of Yeskendirov’s brother about the bag with a bulk of cash.

Earlier a brother of the crash victim Yeskendirov applied to Scat airline with a claim over his brother’s missing belongings. He said that the bag contained 8 million tenge, a phone, personal belongings and keys.

On January 29 the Bombardier airplane owned by Scat airline crashed 7km from Almaty airport during its second attempt to land. According to the prosecutors, the plane was performing a Kokshetau-Almaty flight. The accident claimed lives of 5 crew members and 16 passengers including a 2-year-old boy.
