Visiting professor of London School of Business & Finance (LSBF) Andy Wright held a master-class in Almaty for the students of Kazakhstan-British Technical University (KBTU), Tengrinews.kz reports. The visit of the British financial expert was held under a bilateral agreement between Kazakhstan and Great Britain. In September 2009 Prince Michael of Kent, a member of the British royal family, met with Kazakhstan Prime-Minister Karim Massimov. The parties agreed on enhancing cooperation in education and culture. As a result several educational programs were launched to let Kazakhstan students study in LSBF. Prince Michael is an official patron of the university. The decision was also made to increase investments into Kazakhstan and sponsor Kazakhstan citizens’ education under British online programs. The schedule of master-classes and presentations for Kazakhstan students was made at the meeting. Andy Wright’s lecture was on international standards of corporate management. The professor told the participants about the methods regulating this business sector. In particular, he focused on investments into business projects. According to him, the majority of successful companies are investing money into long-term prospects, but it is always associated with risk, as the possibility of profit loss increases with time. At the same time Wright noted that some investment models provide 33 percent profits in one year after investments. Before getting the right to do educational activities, Andy Wright had been working for 14 years on accounting systems and financial procedures in different corporations. In 2009 he became an independent financial consultant. Wright also works as LSBF head and is a mentor and a scientific supervisor of the students in different universities around the world.
