In 2012 student campuses will be built in Almaty and Astana, Tengrinews.kz reports. This was announced by the Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Zhumagulov at the meeting with students and faculty from Almaty universities where he spoke about the key provisions of the President’s new State-of-theUnion address to the people of Kazakhstan.

“Construction of campuses in Almaty – for 20 thousand students, and in Astana – for 10 thousand students, has been approved,” Zhumagulov said. He pointed out that the president and prime minister instructed the ministry to launched the program.

According to the Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan, the construction will start in several selected higher education institutions. “This complex issue will be addressed shortly,” Zhumagulov added.
