Almost $1 billion was allocated for implementation of electronic education in Kazakhstan, reports citing Kazakhstan Minister of Education of Science Bakytzhan Zhumagulov as saying at the education forum on August 25.

“This is the most developing area of education and Kazakhstan is not planning to lag behind. 136.1 billion tenge (almost $1 billion) are set to be allocated for this,” the Minister said.

A pilot project called e-learning will be launched in 44 education facilities this year. According to Bakytzhan Zhumagulov, “such format of education will improve the quality of education regardless of the residency and will equate levels of education in cities and rural areas.”
