$100 thousand and 7.4 million tenge (the total of $150 thousand) have been lifted from a money collector of an exchange bureau in Almaty, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the official representative of Kazakhstan Interior Ministry Nurdilda Oraz.

“In the beginning of April the criminals were staking out the exchange point for several days to find out the time and method of money delivery. At the scheduled day they were waiting for the collector to arrive to the exchange point with money. They hit him on the head with a metal tube and stole his bag with $100 thousand and 8 million tenge. The criminals left the site in a car,” Nurdilda Oraz said.

According to the Ministry’s official representative, the criminals distributed the money among themselves. Almaty police has apprehended one suspect, a 29-year-old citizen of Zhambyl oblast. His accomplices have been put on the wanted list.
