25 апреля 2012, 14:33
London police has not yet informed of apprehension of Kazakhstan citizen accused of human trafficking, Tengrinews.kz reports citing an official representative of Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry.

“We are trying to identify the Kazakhstan citizen and are checking the reliability of this information,” Ministry’s representative said. “According to British legislation, local police has to inform the embassies on apprehension of foreign citizens. However, in this case the police has not informed us,” Altai Abibullayev commented the situation.

Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that several media cited near-border commission as saying that a man from Lithuania and a woman from Kazakhstan were apprehended in London in suspicion of human trafficking. According to the commission, the suspects forced young women from former soviet space to render sexual services by threatening and locking them up. They invited the women to Great Britain as if to work.
