KazakhTelecom has purchased 100-percent of Digital TV, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the official website of Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE).

According to KASE, procurement of Digital TV will help the Kazakhstan national telecommunication company expand the range of services it provides in the paid television sector in Kazakhstan. The company currently provides cable analog and digital television services in 14 cities of Kazakhstan.

On December 14, 2012, the board of KazakhTelecom approved the deal to procure the 100-percent stake in the charter capital of Digital TV from Alem Communications Holding at above-market price approved by an independent assessor.

According to the sales contract, the information on the cost is still confidential. But it is known that the cost of the Digital TV company's property does not exceed 10 percent of the total cost of KazakhTelecom’s assets.

KazakhTelecom also announced procurement of 100-percent stake in the charter capital of MaxCom that renders services of local telephone communications, data transfer and mobile communications in 17 cities of Kazakhstan.

MaxCom will be used as a technical based for KazakhTelecom to establish wireless connections.
