KazMunaiGaz to develop O&G machinery building

“In February, KazMunaiGaz approved of a program to stimulate O&G machinery building in Kazakhstan for 2011-2013. It overviews products made by 53 machinery-building enterprises and KMG demand for such products”, Bnews.kz quoted the company’s statement. According to the company’s press service, in 2011 the company plans to purchase products worth $ 198 million. The figure is expected to mount to $ 212 million by 2010 and $ 219 million by 2013. “The program seeks to launch production of 35 types of equipment locally”, the statement reads. KazMunaiGaz is the national operator of exploration, development and shipping operations in Kazakhstan. It is fully owned by Samruk Kazyna. Samruk-Kazyna is a joint stock company in Kazakhstan which owns, either in whole or in part, many important companies in the country, including the national rail and postal service, the state oil and gas company KazMunayGaz, the state uranium company Kazatomprom, Air Astana, and numerous financial groups. 2010 oil and condensed gas production in Kazakhstan stood at 79.7 million tons, 4.2% up against 2009. Major volumes of oil exports were sent through CPC (40,2%), Atyrau-Samara (21,5%), Atasu-Alashankow (14.2%).
