KazMunaiGas halved its top management

KazMunaiGas National Oil company has completed optimization of its central headquarters' structure, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the company's press-service. "KMG has significantly decreased the number of management levels to avoid duplication of authorities and to clearly divide responsibilities of managers. As a result of the optimization the administrative staff of KMG headquarters was cut by 47.8 percent and the number of top management went 26 percent down overall," the press-service's message states. According to the press-service, structures of affiliated companies are also being reviewed and their administrative and managerial personnel is being shrinked. KMG will consider selling or transferring the affiliated companies that do not compliance with the goals and objectives of KMG. Overall reduction of administrative and managerial personnel of KMG and its affiliated companies will stand at roughly 23 percent. "The suggested measures of optimization of KMG headquarters and its affiliated companies will help boots the national company's development and focus its efforts on strengthening its core assets and generating maximum profit for the country," the press-service states. On February 13, 2012 KazMunaiGas board approved the total number of personnel and the structure of KMG headquarters. The approved organizational structure is based on the classical model of an international oil and gas company where the priority is given to the experts with certain education and experience in oil and gas industry. According to the company, the updated structure will help strengthen the departments involved in oil and gas exploration, development of fields, transportation of oil and gas, processing of oil and gas and development of petrochemistry.
