Director General of ArcelorMittal in Kazakhstan Frank Pannier will leave his position

Management of ArcelorMittal in Kazakhstan will change on November 1, KazTAG reports citing an official source.

"Director General of ArcelorMittal in Kazakhstan Frank Pannier will be working in his position until November 1. He notified all business units' managers by sending them text messages yesterday. Right now Pannier is on a business trip in Ukraine,” the source said on Wednesday.

The company's press-service refused to comment on this information. “The official announcement will be made later,” head of public relations department of ArcelorMittal Temirtau Roman Iltyo said.

Meanwhile, the information on personnel reshuffle is posted on London corporate website of ArcelorMittal. As per the website, starting from November 1 Frank Pannier will be transferred to the company's headquarters and work on continuous improvement projects in Africa and CIS segment as Vice-President of ArcelorMittal.

According to the headquarters, starting from November 1 ArcelorMittal in Kazakhstan will be headed by Vijay Mahadevan who is currently working as Vice-President of the company. Mahadevan has been working in the group of companies since 1998, held different positions in marketing and headed the company's business unit in Dubai. He has 22 years of experience in production and management of technical services, the message states.

Doctor Pannier has been heading ArcelorMittal in Kazakhstan for the last 3.5 years.

ArcelorMittal Temirtau is a part of ArcelorMittal transnational company and is the biggest company of Kazakhstan's mining-metallurgical sector. It includes metallurgical plant in Temirtau, 8 coal pits in Karaganda oblast, 4 iron mines in Karaganda, Akmola and Kostanai oblasts. Over 42 thousand people are employed by ArcelorMittal Temirtau.
