Air Astana buying new Airbus planes

Air Astana is purchasing new Airbus planes, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the company’s press-service. The company states that four new Airbus A320 and two Airbus A321 will arrive in the period from November 2012 to May 2013. This year Air Astana has already placed an order for three Boeing 787 Dreamliner planes and four Boeing 767-300ER. They will be supplied in 2013-2017. The company’s representatives reminded about new flights to be launched in the next 6 months: Almaty-Hong Kong, Almaty-Ho Chi Minh and Atyrau-Moscow. More Astana-Beijing flights will be added to the existing Almaty-Beijing route. National air carrier also announced the results of the company's first half of 2012. 1.5 million passengers used the services of the company in this period, which is 13 percent more than in the same period of 2011. 8,515 tons of cargoes were transported. According to the company, despite of the air fuel prices growth of over 150 percent compared to 2011, the air company made profits in the first half of 2012.
