Kazakhstan-born Timur Bekmambetov will film an action-movie Heatseekers that will feature a story of a former military pilot who infiltrated a band of hijackers, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

Paramount Pictures acquired the script of Heatseekers written by George Mahaffey in 2010. F. Scott Frazier, who is known for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and The Great Gatsby will adapt the script.

Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller, who are the managers of Platinum Dunes production company based at Paramount will be producing the film along with Chris Morgan, best known as the writer behind many of The Fast and the Furious movies.

Not much is known about the plot details so far but it is known that the movie will feature the story of an ex-military pilot who takes on a group of aerial pirates that operate in Bangkok and gets involved in a robbery of skyscraper with the use of parachutes and gliders.

The last movie directed by Bekmambetov was Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

Timur Bekmambetov was born on June 25, 1961 in in the city of Guryev (the former name of Kazakhstan’s city of Atyrau) to a Kazakh father and a Russian mother. He is a Russian director, producer and screenwriter who has worked on films and commercials. He is best known for the Russian film Night Watch (2004) and its sequel Day Watch (2006), and the American films Wanted (2008) and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (2012).
