The Spartacus ballet accompanied by Aram Khachaturyan’s music will premier in the Astana Opera, Tengrinews reports.
The performance will take place on the 6th, 8th and 10th of June. Yuri Grigoryan is the director of the ballet. Simon Virsaladze worked on the stage design of the historical ballet.
The story takes place during the Roman Empire. The ballet features dramatic gladiator fights and sensual dances of ladies of pleasure. The audience will witness the tragedy and trials of the loving Spartacus and Phrygia at the times of Crassus’s rule.
“It is not the first staging of a play on the Astana Opera stage by Yuri Grigorivich. This undoubtedly shows his great trust in our theater. This play is presented on stages of Grand Opera, the Bolshoi Theatre, the China National Opera House and the Korean National Ballet. Now we can visit them on tours and bring only costumes with us,” Tursynbek Nurkaliev of the Astana Opera said.
The ballet starts at 7 p.m. The tickets can be purchased online at the cost from $3 to $35. The theater is located on Kunayev street, at the crossing with Turan Av.
